Water Funds: Protecting Watersheds for the Benefit of Nature and People

In its review of water funds of the northern Andes, this publication identifies the factors needed to increase project effectiveness, among them consideration of: regional biophysical characteristics, history of water funds projects, and elements common to water funds. The publication also analyzes the challenges to the replication and improvement of water funds models used as a conservation strategy.
