Workshop on forest governance, decentralization and REDD+ in Latin America and the Caribbean

Workshop objectives include: identifying trends; facilitating a knowledge exchange on experiences and lessons learned to date; presenting a summary of SFM (sustainable forest management), forest governance, decentralization, and REDD+; and identifying the opportunities and threats to subsistence and the poor. The workshop aims to contribute to the design of REDD+, make direct contributions to the ninth meeting of the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF), and inform discussions at upcoming meetings including the next United Nations meeting on climate change and the COP16 meeting in Mexico.
